WordSprouts Scholar

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 13, 2026

The short version

  • We do not collect, store, or share any personal information.
  • There are no accounts, ads, analytics, or tracking of any kind.
  • Everything the app saves, including puzzles you make, stays on your device.

This policy explains how the WordSprouts Scholar app ("the app", "we", "us") handles information. WordSprouts Scholar is a word search game built from high school and college course vocabulary.

Information we collect

None. The app does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information. It does not ask for a name, email address, age, school, photo, location, contacts, or any other personal details. We do not operate servers that receive data from the app.

The app does not include any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, remote update, or social media tools. It does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android) and does not track you across other apps or websites.

Information stored on your device

To work properly, the app saves a small amount of information on your device only:

This information is never sent to us or anyone else. You can erase it at any time: Reset progress in Settings clears best times and your saved game, you can delete puzzles you made from the Library, and uninstalling the app removes everything.

Uploading term lists

In the puzzle maker, you can choose a .txt, .csv, or .tsv file with the system file picker, such as notes or a flashcard export. The app reads only the file you choose, only to build your puzzle, and keeps the resulting terms on your device.

Sounds and haptics

Sound effects and haptic taps are played on your device. The app does not use the microphone and never records audio.

In-app purchase

WordSprouts Scholar offers one optional, one-time purchase ("Full Access"). Purchases and restores are handled entirely by Apple's App Store or Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment details, name, or account information. Apple and Google handle that information under their own privacy policies:

To confirm whether Full Access has been purchased, the app asks the store on your device. This connection to the store is the only network activity the app performs.

Children's privacy

WordSprouts Scholar is made for high school and college students and is not directed to children under 13. Because the app does not collect personal information from anyone, it collects none from children.

Permissions

The app does not request access to your camera, microphone, photos, contacts, or location. On Android, it uses internet access only for Google Play purchases and vibration only for optional haptic feedback.

Your rights

Because we do not collect or hold any personal information, there is nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf. All app data is on your device and under your control, and you can remove it as described above.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles information, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
